Taylor Farms—the producer of the iceberg lettuce linked to the massive cyclosporiasis outbreak—is now recalling dozens of salsa and guacamole products from 26 states. The items may contain jalapeños that are potentially contaminated with Salmonella.1

The jalapeños, which were also served at Chipotle and QDOBA, were recalled last week after being connected to a 345-person Salmonella outbreak.2 At the time, health officials said the products were likely only distributed to restaurants and wholesalers, not grocery stores.

But the Taylor Farms products in the new recall were sold directly to consumers. Here’s what you need to know.

What You Should Do

Check your kitchen for the recalled products. If you have any of the affected items, throw them away immediately and request a refund from the store.

If you think you’ve consumed a contaminated product, monitor for symptoms of Salmonella, including diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps.

Children younger than 5, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems are more likely to have serious infections. Seek medical attention if you or a loved one experiences severe Salmonella symptoms, including:

• Diarrhea and a fever higher than 102 degrees Fahrenheit
• Diarrhea for more than three days that is not improving
• Bloody diarrhea
• So much vomiting that you cannot keep liquids down
• Signs of dehydration, such as not peeing much, dry mouth and throat, and feeling dizzy when standing up
