Around 180,000 cans of coconut water have been recalled in 11 states, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Tipp Distributors, Inc. (doing business as Novamex) initially recalled the items on Feb. 25 for a labeling error. The individual cans are labeled correctly, but the outer packaging has incorrect nutrition facts and ingredient lists—which do not include the 5 grams of added sugar in the coconut water. On March 6, the FDA gave the recall the lowest risk level, Class III.1

The recalled products were distributed in Colorado, California, Arizona, Washington, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Missouri, New Jersey, Minnesota, and Michigan.
